The key differences between the 3rd gen and 4th gen iPhone FM Transmitter is the toggle switch has been replaced with a push button.s Instead of the toggle switch which allow you to pick and choose which of the three channel you want to use manually. You will be holding down the same exactly button to make changes.
The 4th Gen is fully automatic with an ON / OFF switch. To choose the right channel to match your car radio setting. You simply hold down the button for 3 to 5 seconds, the transmitter will now turn On or OFF. You also choose your channel setting the same way. The transmitter will cycle thru all three setting until it matches the correct one which is set at your car. It will then start broadcasting sound and music from your iPhone thru your car's fm radio
