It can be very hard to isolate the waveform for you color neutral area you use for reference. This is where Final Cut Pro's trim tool comes in handy. Using the trim tool, you can isolate your color neutral ares, and only see the waveforms for that part. This will make it easy to balance out your colors, so you have the same amount of red, blue and green in your image.
